Knowing your tools

What is it that stops one from working on their craft, family responsibility otherworldly stuff. I don't know all I know is there is always a struggle there are things that hold you back and stops you to go back to the studio. The most critical part of an artist is not only to know what they are creating but also to synchronously work with the tools and materials in hand. Create a relationship with them that is gonna last their lifetime. Sometimes when an artist stops working they kinda lose the skills that they had crafted and over a time period.

The challenge here to give time and work a little bit everyday no matter what and say hello as often as we can to the materials. They are like close friends you lose touch and suddenly one day you call and talk for hours. The craft is important and the idea of art is also very important. One needs to understand first where is coming from and what does it trying to say.

Coming Back

I would start by saying a big sorry to all the people who follow this blog, you see as an artist its more like scientific research - you read stuff like art history, try to think what can you include in your own work and simultaneously work on your self made modus operandi.

Also as like most artist if you are not Damien Hirst or Andy Warhol its always better to stick to a day job and that's what I do.I am a web and application developer. Don't get me wrong I take my journey as an artist very seriously but if you don't have anything to eat the next morning you can't make art , anyone who had been a struggling artist knows this very well.

I think the last post that I wrote was a year back in June 2015 and that is very shameful for a blogger to his/her reader to ask for such patience, but you know what I am lucky in that sense I still have people visiting in my blog - I can't be thankful enough for that.I won't promise much but I can promise atleast one post per week from now.

Moving to what am working on lately are this line artworks with color pencil and occasionally I experiment with water color as well.

I really like organic patterns it has been a great part of my work because it comes very naturally to me so in a way they are naive and soulful , I think you get what am trying to describe here, I won't acknowledge them as doodling which is a very generalized term - because although the shapes are spontaneous they do have long hours of reading and experimentation behind them .

Contest/Competitions/Exhibitions

I want to share with my art loving blogger that even if you are into a location where there are not much art groups and establishment you can always look for on line contest and competitions. They are good with respect to gaining more exposure and building audience. No matter if you are just starting out as an artist or an entrepreneur in any discipline building audience and generating traffic is really important.
I would suggest to look for them in different social medias and all the best with the connections you make on the way.Since i started my journey i have meet numerous people on line and made some really god friends from all over the world.

Going back to my original idea with an example. This is an example of small ones that you can win and because these kind of website have international exposure your work is exposed to the right kind of people and an unbiased assessment of your art.Well this one made my day.

Abstract Thursday

Digital abstract: Medium : Mixed Media.Aceo 3/5 in

This week i was experimenting on creating mixed media projects merging abstract illustrations and digital drawings. The more i explore different medium and try to merge them digitally i realize that i need to include my doodling into life size paintings both in digital as well as in mixed media.I think i like mixed media because it doesn't restrict the creative process ,and one can overcome the challenges of a particular medium. Its more of a controlled way of creativity yes am saying controlled here because i feel even if my art is spontaneous i need to have the elements in right place on a canvas or else the expression loses its forms and takes up something else which i was not looking for.

Minds journey to canvas

Sharing with you another illustration from my journey this piece titled "born out of mist" , the morning here in Texas are now unusually cold and snowy, she came to me gradually,i built her in early morning as the rays of sun touch the bits of grasses from my balcony.I think art finds its way to you  as if it was already there in your mind waiting to reach the canvas as reflections.
